So thought I would post up a topic to see how you all get there, what car ya drive and how beefy is it climbing up that hill?!

I drive a 1995 Subaru WRX - 4WD! I like passing people movers on the way up to the mountain, hehe

POST PICS (I will, once I find some lol)

I use a battered Renault Scenic in the mountains. Fits in really well here in Tignes as most of the local cars have dents in. Fitted with Vredestein snow tyres it will go virtually anywhere. Far better than my 4 wheel drive audi :-\

Something from the Subaru range will probably be my replacement at some time in the future. The ski resort operators use a lot of them so they must be good.

Heh, very nice!

Yeah my mate has a 4WD Audi, it seems pretty weak for how much he paid for it (almost double for my Subaru).

Subaru's are pretty damn good, I love em, let me know if you need any advice about em :D

Here's mine, pics as promised,

Nice! One thing missing from the picture.. snow! ;)

The last mountain I had to drive up was Mt. Tamberine in Queensland, Australia (obviously not for the skiing) - we JUST made it up in our 1985 Madza E2000 Van :)
If there had been snow we wouldn't have had a chance!

Ive heard lots of people using citreon zx's and renauts 5's though! cheap, cheerful and you can get parts from any french scrap yard!

Half the ones you see out here belong in the scapyard >:D

The old Fiat Panda 4x4 is quite popular but less every year as they fall apart.

Looks great.

I wouldn't risk it if it's your pride and joy. An old Citreon DS in the background as well.

@03ruben - hehe, that thing looks awesome! Slap a turbo on that thing with some snow wheels and it'll go anywhere :D

@ash - that is one COOL van. I want it!

And yes, no snow... :( I'll have to get some of it doing a doughnut in the carpark when everone is gone or something :) with some boards on top of course!

Just a mattress in the back - a fair few could sit on that. The van has been called ugly on more that one occasion, I can't imagine any women will be in the back. Giving it a homemade paintjob and pimpin' it slightly so that could all change ;)
