Where you thinking of doing it mate?

I'd go for bar work - shifts are normally on an evening so you get the day to ride and it seems a good laugh.

I know you do a lot of video work - maybe you could progress with this when you're out there in some way too?

Pros;
- You get to ride everyday and keep fit.
- You get to hang with like minded people, and make some great mates.
- Generally having a great lifestyle.

Cons;
- Maybe not progressing with a career you have in mind as quickly - but then what's a year delay?
- Possibly having to do a crappy seasonaire job and not earning very good money.
- Expensive living costs.

From experience it seems worthwhile looking for jobs that provide staff accommodation. With most resorts accommodation is limited and it is certainly beneficial to have a job that provides that option is it saves on the stress of finding it yourself and it will most likely be cheap.

Another way to go would be hospitality, work that allows for tips such as waiters and bar work. If you work in a good restaurant/bar, the tips can be very generous, good enough to live on almost and subsidize further traveling if thats something you'd be interested in.

Usually a job on the mountain itself provides the best benefits. They can offer anything from free lift pass to paid ski/boarding time during each shift.

I have done a total of 5 seasons and I have to say it is the best way to get out of the boring times of day to day office work etc. Quite often you can find some rather good jobs that will get you good experience in varied employment sectors. The jobs you should look for all depend what you would like to take away from the season. Personally I like hotel work, as you usually get quite a lot of time to ride as well as having accomodaton and food provided. When lookin for a job I tend to use http://www.snowworkers.com/ as it has a very good range of jobs as well as resort info. The most important thing is to find a job that you will be comfortable with otherwise the season can prove quite hellish.

Good luck and have a good season

Accomodations and bar work seems feasible, since anything that keeps you warm during the cold season = good.

So I heard there was a marshmallow bar in some ski resort. :D
